General Instructions

NanoMatImp Roles and Requirements

Authors must be familiar with Journal of Nano Materials Impact (NanoMatImp) Roles and Requirements when preparing manuscripts for submission. The journal's editorial procedures undergo a blind review process by a dedicated editorial team. The editors' goal is to strive to complete this process in the most timely and efficient manner. The editors' goal is to strive to complete this process in a timely and most efficient manner, by providing objective reviews to our authors along with constructive suggestions for improvements and clarifications when needed.  Authors should be aware of the scope of the journal and the types of articles that can be submitted for evaluation.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to NanoMatImp follow a two-blind peer review process by at least two reviewers selected from the relevant global research community as well as one associate editor. The article will be accepted with two complete and final reviews. For revisions of prior submissions, it is common for suggested major revisions to be re-evaluated by the original referees, but articles requiring only minor revisions are often only re-evaluated by the original Associate Editors and Editors-in-Chief. The reviewers handling a manuscript are all anonymous and are invited by the manuscript’s Associate Editors, who also remain anonymous and are selected by the Editors-in-Chief. Although Associate Editors are tasked with making recommendations on each submission that they handle and can request revisions as well, only the Editors-in-Chief can make a final decision to accept or reject an article.

When selecting reviewers, the editorial board seeks to avoid conflicts of interest and close associates of the authors, such as frequent collaborators, former advisees, or former advisors. NanoMatImp accepts manuscript submissions from its own editorial board members in cases in which the identities of the Associate Editor and referees handling the manuscript can remain fully confidential. To be accepted, manuscripts submitted by editorial board members must meet the same quality standards as all other accepted submissions; there is absolutely no special preference or consideration given to such submissions.

NanoMatImp also publishes special issues. The peer review process of any submission associated with a special issue is handled by Guest Editors who are responsible for assigning at least two referees to each article and evaluating the reviews. Like our Associate Editors, Guest Editors make recommendations and request and evaluate revisions, but only the Editors-in-Chief can make final decisions of accepting or rejecting for any special issue article. Any articles submitted to a special issue by Guest Editors are also handled confidentially by Associate Editors outside of the normal refereeing process of the special issue to ensure that the evaluation of these articles is completely objective.

Manuscript Commitment Rules

Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any compensation claims.

Permissions

Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their manuscripts. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

Source Files

Please ensure you provide all relevant editable source files at every submission and revision. Failing to submit a complete set of editable source files will result in your article not being considered for review. For your manuscript text please always submit in common word processing formats such as .docx or LaTeX.
